Frequently Asked Questions

What is freeze drying?

Freeze drying is like “suspended animation” for food. Freeze drying (technically known as lyophilisation or cryodesiccation), is a dehydration process typically used to preserve a perishable material or make the material more convenient for transport.
Freeze drying works by freezing the material and then reducing the surrounding pressure to allow the frozen water in the material to sublimate directly from the solid phase to the gas phase.
The critical control elements in the process are the equation of vacuum pressure, suction pressure, temperature and time. Our patented Australian technology allows us to set and measure these critical control points to produce our world class products. You can then easily see inferior processes through their end product. The raw material integrity factors such as look, size, shape, colour, taste, texture, nutrition and natural state are compromised by poor equipment, over use of heat and the inclusion of additives, especially refined sugars.
We add absolutely nothing to our products – no sugar, no fats, no additives, chemicals or preservatives.
